Monsters of Hip Hop Cast Member – Grant Gilmore
img_0007
Grant Gilmore is an 18 year old Dancer/Choreographer and Visionary from Houston, Texas. Grant Gilmore’s main purpose and passion is to show others to be comfortable and confident with themselves, and dance for a greater cause. Grant grew up in Houston just dancing for the freedom of it and fulfillment he felt when he did dance. Grant started training at Planet Funk Academy in Houston in 2010 and decided that he wanted to start taking dance seriously. Since then, Grant has been taking from local workshops, masterclasses, and conventions all across the state and country such as Monster’s of Hip Hop, The Pulse on Tour, Brian Friedman, and many more. He then started shifting his training over to Soreal Dance Studio within the past few years. In 2014,Grant started to delve into choreography and started teaching at Soreal. Since then, he has been fine-tuning his craft, finding his own unique style, and learning how to teach and share his work with others, while his students learn in-depth concepts about dance, using his choreography as the vessel and foundation of his teaching. Recently this past summer in 2016, Grant got casted by Monster’s of Hip Hop Dance Conventions to be a part of their yearly annual show in Los Angeles, California, this year titled, “Driven” directed by Rhapsody James. Grant tediously trained intimately with some of the industry’s top-working professional choreographers such as: Kevin Maher, Luther Brown, Laura Edwards, Rhapsody James, Luam, Chonique Sneed & Lisette Bustamante, and many more. Since the show, Grant has been working solely on his own craft and prepping for his move to LA in the near future. Currently, Grant is working on various projects mainly showcasing his work and artistry locally in Houston, and has been driven more then ever to inspire, grow, and spread love and joy through the thing he loves most, which is dance…
